Mississippi State's second biennial Black Alumni Weekend featured educational and social events, as well as a semiformal gala to honor African American alumni who are trailblazers in their respective fields. The sold-out event was attended by more than 700 participants and gave Ï㽶ֱ²¥alumni and friends of any ethnic background an opportunity to salute the university's heritage of inclusion and diversity. Pictured, Jasmine Murray, former Miss Ï㽶ֱ²¥and Miss Mississippi who now is a professional singer living in Nashville, performs during Sunday’s Gospel Brunch, which culminated the Feb. 15-18 program.
