A large crowd in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium attended Alicia Garza's presentation "Say Her Name: Gender, Feminism and the Black Lives Matter Movement" on Tuesday [March 8]. Garza, co-founder of the social media hashtag #blacklivesmatter and central figure for the Black Lives Matter movement, spoke as part of the Ογ½ΆΦ±²₯ Gender Studies program's Women's History Month celebration. She focused on including the struggles of black women in conversations about both racial and gender equality.
