Mock Archaeology Dig
Children of all ages, including 4-year-old Parker Doughty, enjoyed a free, hands-on learning event for Mississippi Archaeology Month on Saturday [Oct. 31] at MSU's Cobb Institute of Archaeology. Despite the rain, dozens of children attended and dug to find bones, pottery, tools and mosaics. The excavation of a mock archaeology site full of simulated artifacts was designed to teach participants about archaeology, including tools, techniques and artifacts.
