Memphis-based Collage Dance Collective continues MSUā€™s Lyceum Series next month

STARKVILLE, Miss.ā€”Mississippi Stateā€™s Lyceum Seriesā€™ 77th season continues with a highly entertaining performance from the Midsouth performing arts company Collage Dance Collective.

Performing Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in Lee Hallā€™s Bettersworth Auditorium, the groupā€™s show is free for Ļć½¶Ö±²„students, and the general public can purchase tickets at . Individual tickets are $30 per person and $25 for Ļć½¶Ö±²„employees and senior citizens. Season and miniseries passes also are available.

Based in Memphis, Tennessee, Collage Dance Collective has been named a Southern Cultural Treasure by South Arts and the Ford Foundation and listed among the 50 largest ballet companies in the nation. The collective includes three core programs: a conservatory teaching classical ballet, jazz, tap, modern and West African dance to students; a collection of adult classes and programming; and the international touring company comprised of 18 professional dancers from across the world.

The ā€œBuff City Bluesā€ production is an ode to the musical heritage of Memphis, and is comprised of high-energy classical ballet with blues music from artists such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King and Koko Taylor.
