STARKVILLE, Miss.—A Starkville man unaffiliated with Mississippi State is in custody of the Oktibbeha County Sherrif’s Department after being charged with aggravated domestic assault and child endangerment, stemming from a Monday [Dec. 11] stabbing that took place in a parked vehicle on campus.

Gavin Sudduth, 38, allegedly stabbed a university employee, who was taken to OCH Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The child endangerment charge was added since four of the victim’s children were present in the car when the violent attack occurred near Herbert Hall.

㽶ֱVice President Sid Salter said the incident seemed to be a domestic situation.

㽶ֱPolice responded immediately, and a university Maroon Alert message asked people to avoid the area. Campus returned to normal operations after the arrest.
