STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State will recognize International Education Week Nov. 12-18, celebrating international students and their cultures. Several events are hosted by university organizations such as the week’s main sponsors, the Division of Access, Diversity and Inclusion and the International Institute, as well as the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, Office of Study Abroad and International Student Advisory Board.
㽶ֱkicks the week off today [Nov. 8] with “Global Night,” a showcase of diverse student cultures through food and performances, 6 p.m., in Colvard Student Union’s Foster Ballroom. The event is hosted by the International Student Advisory Board and the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center.
On Nov. 13-18, MSU’s Dining Services at Perry Cafeteria will serve international cuisines to offer a taste of different cultures.
Other events celebrating international students include:
—Nov. 14, 1-3 p.m., “International Institute Holiday Ornament Decorating,” first floor lobby, Allen Hall. Decorate holiday ornaments with MSU’s International Institute.
—Nov. 16, 4 p.m., “Study Abroad Photo Contest Reception,” Old Main Academic Center Room 2030. This reception will feature the announcement of annual photo contest winners from summer 2022-2023 study abroad trips. Refreshments will be provided.
—Nov. 18, 9 a.m., “Football Game Tailgate: 㽶ֱvs. USM,” Junction. The International Institute will host a tailgate before 㽶ֱfaces the University of Southern Mississippi.
—Nov. 20, 6 p.m., “Interfaith Dinner & Dialogue,” Coskrey Auditorium, Memorial Hall. The Office of Study Abroad will host a conversation over dinner about different worldviews, religious and spiritual identities.
