Ļć½¶Ö±²„Graduate School recognizes Image of Research Competition winners

STARKVILLE, Miss.āFour Ļć½¶Ö±²„ graduate students are being recognized for their creativity in capturing the research process.
The Ļć½¶Ö±²„Graduate School recently held the Image of Research Competition, which included 15 images and short descriptions from graduate students that were on display in the Colvard Student Union Art Gallery. The competition gives students the opportunity to engage creatively with their research, share behind-the-scenes views of their research processes, or portray their academic study in visual form.
A panel of judges selected first and second place winners, with the first place winner receiving a $300 prize and second place receiving $200. A $150 prize is awarded to the winner of the Peopleās Choice award. This yearās winners include:
First place: Lorena Chavarro-Chaux of Starkville, a masterās student in the Richard A. Rula School of Civil and Environmental Engineering for āAssessing Effects of Livestock Production on Stream Water Quality;ā
Second place (tie): Rebecca Bracken, a doctoral student in the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture from Austin, Texas, for āA Feeling Like No Other;ā
Second place (tie): Macy Gosselaar, a masterās student in the Department of Forestry from Olathe, Kansas, for āFrozen in Time; A Snapshot of an Environmental Moment;ā and
Peopleās Choice: Varsha Singh, a doctoral student in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences for āStudy of Sweet Potato Root Exudates for Sustainable Weed Management.ā
