Ļć½¶Ö±²„Libraries announces new and improved Scholars Junction institutional repository

Ļć½¶Ö±²„ Libraries is announcing the new and improvedĀ Scholars Junction (), MSU's institutional repository.

The new platform for Scholars Junction, Digital Commons, provides additionalĀ functionality for the repository to host open access journals, events andĀ associated archival material, image galleries, books, usage statistics and more.

Scholars Junction now will be the official repository for Ļć½¶Ö±²„scholarship andĀ creative activities, as well as open educational resources, departmentĀ archives, museums and galleries, administrative documents, Ļć½¶Ö±²„research reports and much more. With unlimited storage capacity, Scholars Junction is theĀ official data repository for university-created research data and is theĀ official Ļć½¶Ö±²„open data repository for all federal grants mandating shared data.

In addition to serving as a repository of faculty and student scholarship andĀ research, Scholars Junction also includes all Ļć½¶Ö±²„electronic theses andĀ dissertations, materials digitized from University Archives and SpecialĀ Collections, Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library collections and material from the Frank andĀ Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana.

Along with the new Scholars Junction, Ļć½¶Ö±²„Libraries has become a member ofĀ CrossRef, which enables the assignment of DOIs to select repository items. The assignment of DOIs facilitates the discovery of repository content and providesĀ permanent linking without concern of future changes.
