ā€œChris was a true Bulldog in every sense of the word,ā€ said Ļć½¶Ö±²„President Mark E. Keenum. ā€œDuring his lifeā€™s journey, Chris positively impacted many peopleā€™s lives. Many had the opportunity to be enriched just by knowing him and having a chance to interact with him. He made a difference in this world. He was loved by his family and his Mississippi State family. Chrisā€™s legacy will live on for generations at Davis Wade and Dudy Noble with these markers.ā€ĢżĢżĀ

Carl shared a love for Ļć½¶Ö±²„with his parents Fred and Margaret CarlĀ ofĀ Greenwood, who haveĀ been loyal Bulldog Club members for more than 24 years.Ā Fred, founder ofĀ Mississippi-based companies Viking Range Corporation and C3 Design, Inc.,Ā received an honorary Doctor of Science fromĀ MSUĀ in 2009. The coupleā€™s recent gift from the Fred and Margaret Carl FoundationĀ will benefit Bulldog student-athletes, coaches and fans through the ongoing ā€œToday. Tomorrow. Forever.ā€ initiative for athletics facilities,Ā and alsoĀ servesĀ as a way toĀ carry on the legacy of their late son.ĢżĢż

ā€œChris Carl spent a lifetime passionately supporting the Mississippi State Bulldogs,ā€ said Ļć½¶Ö±²„Athletics Director John Cohen. ā€œFor decades, the Carl family has been so instrumental and generous to Ļć½¶Ö±²„academic and athletic programs that it is truly fitting that Chris Carlā€™s name should now live on at Davis Wade Stadium and Dudy Noble Field. When family, friends or fans visit one of these facilities, there will now be a part of Chris and his indomitable spirit right there with them.ā€ĢżĢż
