STARKVILLE, Miss.—In partnership with Mississippi State’s Department of Art, the university’s College of Architecture, Art and Design and College of Agriculture and Life Sciences are sponsoring an online exhibition featuring nearly 50 drawings, paintings, graphic designs, photography and printmaking works through Nov. 25.

The gallery may be accessed on the CAAD website at .

Organized by Assistant Professor of Art Ming Ying Hong and Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture Cory Gallo, the show highlights subject matter focusing on the university’s dedication to agriculture.

Faculty members Jordan Kornreich, Gregory Martin, Soon Ee Ngoh, Alex Bostic and Suzanne Powney directed the art classes from which the designs were chosen. All participating professors provided assignment guides to direct students to incorporate specific crops such as corn, soy beans and cotton into the finished artworks.

Within the different art courses, students were asked to demonstrate their abilities by using formal representational drawing ideas, creating engaging drawings that showcase crops from North Farm and making a color poster to promote farming and agriculture in Mississippi.

Invited jurors from the College of Architecture, Art and Design and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will select awards to be announced online Nov. 20.

Many of the works in the online exhibition are available for sale. Contact the Department of Art for purchases at 662-325-2970 or email msuartgalleries@msstate.edu.

Part of MSU’s College of Architecture, Art and Design, the Department of Art is the state’s largest undergraduate studio program.
