Ļć½¶Ö±²„Barnes & Noble Bookstore completes renovations

STARKVILLE, Miss.āLeaders from Mississippi State and its Ļć½¶Ö±²„Barnes & Noble Bookstore celebrated a grand reopening Friday [Oct. 2], holding a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of a months-long store renovation project.
āMost alumni and fans always want to come to the bookstore during a campus visit,ā said Ļć½¶Ö±²„President Mark E. Keenum. āWe have a showcase hereāthe store is beautiful and full of wonderful products.ā He said the store updates, and specifically the redesigned cafĆ© area, create improved spaces for students, faculty and campus visitors.
Ļć½¶Ö±²„Vice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt said the bookstore is selling new items āhot off the press,ā such as current T-shirts touting the Bulldogsā recent football victory over LSU.
āYouāll also notice Ļć½¶Ö±²„cheese and ice cream in the cafĆ©, which is a great addition,ā Hyatt said.
Along with a more open layout, the storeās second floor now includes a new meeting space.
Bobby Hamous, director of stores for Barnes & Noble, spent five years at Ļć½¶Ö±²„as the first manager on campus after the store opened 14 years ago. He said he enjoys opportunities to return to campus.
āThis is a great day for Barnes & Noble and we hope for the university,ā Hamous said.
