Ļć½¶Ö±²„accounting honor society receives āSuperior Chapterā recognition

STARKVILLE, Miss.āĻć½¶Ö±²„ās chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an international honor society for accounting students, has received āSuperior Chapterā status.
The Beta Kappa chapter housed at Ļć½¶Ö±²„received the recognition at Beta Alpha Psiās recent national meeting in Chicago. The honor signifies the groupās accomplishments and activities during the 2018-19 academic year.
āSuperior Chapterā status is earned by students attending and participating in numerous professional meetings and service projects throughout the year in partnership with the community and university. The Ļć½¶Ö±²„chapter is advised by Clyde Herring, clinical professor in the Adkerson School of Accountancy.
āAttaining āSuperior Chapterā status is a great recognition for our BAP student members and the Adkerson School of Accountancy,ā Herring said. āWe were a Superior Chapter for 19 straight years from 1989-2007. Our goal is to continue this prestigious tradition.ā
Throughout the year, the students in the honor society promoted accounting to prospective students, networked with accounting firms to promote accounting careers and tutored fellow College of Business students, among other activities. Service projects included supporting Operation Christmas Child in conjunction with First United Methodist Church and volunteering for projects with the Salvation Army.
