STARKVILLE, Miss. ā€“ Ļć½¶Ö±²„ā€™s Theatre Ļć½¶Ö±²„will perform Charles Dickensā€™ world-renowned novella, ā€œA Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmasā€ Nov. 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.

The performances will be held on the main stage at McComas Hall. Tickets are $10 each at the door, while season tickets are $30. Advance tickets also may be purchased at . Half of the proceeds from the Friday performance will support the Sally Kate Winters Family Services and the organizationā€™s Transitional Living Program.

First published on Dec. 19, 1843, Dickens wrote ā€œA Christmas Carolā€ at a time when Britain was examining Christmas traditions from the past, such as carols, as well as exploring new customs, such as Christmas trees. The first edition sold out before Christmas Eve, just six days later.

The beloved story was written with the intent of bringing attention to the plight of Englandā€™s poor. With every famous ā€œBah! Humbug!ā€ audiences can relive the classical tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his encounters with the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
