STARKVILLE, Miss.—Competitors of all ages are invited to dress as a favorite movie star or character and participate Friday [Nov. 17] in an annual fun run at Mississippi State.

Organized to raise funds for the university’s T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability, the event specifically supports Project IMPACT, an early-intervention preschool program for children with special needs.

Admission is $20 each or $35 for two or more, with all proceeds going to Project IMPACT.

In addition to Mathiston-based Circle M Inc. and Maddox Brothers Inc., this year’s race is sponsored by Pedia Trust. A provider of skilled nursing services for medically fragile children, it operates from offices in Columbus and Hattiesburg, as well as Denham Springs and Lake Charles, Louisiana. For more, see .

Participant registration begins at 5 p.m.; check-ins follow 15 minutes later. Runners step off at 6 p.m.

“This is something we look forward to each year,†said center director Janie Cirlot-New. “We constantly are amazed at the outpouring of support from campus organizations and the Starkville community.â€

Adjoining the John C. Longest Student Health Center on Hardy Road, the T.K. Martin Center is a memorial to the late university vice president who led in making the campus more accessible to those with physical challenges.
