STARKVILLE, Miss.— The Starkville-㽶ֱ Symphony Chorus will present “Ode to Nature” during a Sunday [Oct. 23] afternoon concert at the city’s Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Free to all, the 3 p.m. performance sponsored by the Starkville-㽶ֱ Symphony Association features music focused on natural subjects, including Earth, sky, sea, stars and planets.

“Having nature as the concert’s theme will lend itself to a variety of choral literature that conjures thought-provoking moments,” said Doug Browning, symphony chorus conductor.

The symphony chorus will be accompanied by James Allen, retired Mississippi University for Women professor and organist at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. Rounding out the concert will be a set of themed music performed by MUW Voice Instructor Cherry Dunn and students from her voice studio.

Additionally, local artists will exhibit paintings featuring natural settings for attendees to peruse before and after the concert.

Trinity Presbyterian Church is located at 607 Hospital Road.
