Digital Dawg Byte technology competition winners selected

STARKVILLE, Miss. —The Department of Instructional Systems and Workforce Development in Ï㽶ֱ²¥â€™s College of Education recently hosted its second annual Digital Dawg Byte High School Technology Competition.

Welcoming hundreds of high school students from across the state, the collegiate event offered an opportunity for students to interact one-on-one with Ï㽶ֱ²¥students and faculty, tour campus, and compete in three technology events.

The winners from this year’s competition categories of Snap It!, App It! and Kahoot It! include:

App It! Competition:

—First, Team 1 Leake County High School of Walnut Grove; students Shamaya Johnson, Ryan Love, Cole Martin and Sharon Patrick, under instruction of Kenyatta Davis and Christopher Tisdale.

—Second, Team 3 Leake County High School of Walnut Gove; students Keyonna Harris, Adria Hollis and Mikayla Wilcher, also under instruction of Davis and Tisdale.

—Third, Team 6 Desoto Central High School of Southaven; students Briana Johnson, Taylor Nix and Tylan Whitfield, under instruction of Kronskie Spears.

Kahoot It! Competition:

—First, Team 1 Webster County Career and Technology Center of Eupora; students Greer Blaylock, Richard Duncan, Kaelyn Mitchell and Chloe Vaughn, under instruction of Dionne Hodges.

—Second, Team 1 West Lowndes High School of Columbus; students Sh’Kaitlin Dickerson, Marquis Givens and Jay Little, under instruction of Jennifer Rollison.

—Third, Team 4 Webster County Career and Technology Center of Eupora; students Hunter Hitt Deanna James, Ashley Vaughan and Brandon White, under instruction of Dionne Hodges.

Snap It! Competition:

—First, Team 4 Grenada Career and Technical Center of Grenada; students Jacob Armstrong, Danial Coward, Taylor Wortham and Jerry Wu, under instruction of Jennifer Mulvihill.

—Second, Team 2 Louisville High School of Louisville; students Destinee Ashford, Asia Eichelberger and Jennifer Hayes, under instruction of Kristi Jernigan.

—Third, Team 3 Noxubee County Career and Technology Center of Macon; students Amari Brady, Kaniya Grassiree, Chelsea Orr and Delilah Stevenson, under instruction of Khristy Franklin.
